On Star’s New Family Link

Safety is a top priority on every parent’s minds these days and ways to keep your children safe are something every parent thinks about often.  On Star has a new tool in their quiver that will provide parents with one tool that could really help.  On Star’s new Family Link let’s you stay connected with loved ones no matter where they are. For $3.99 per month, Family Link gives On Star subscribers unique access to the location of the On Star-equipped vehicles along with the option to receive scheduled email or text message alerts about those vehicles. This service can really offer peace of mind when your loved one is on the road.  Here are the two ways you can use the service:

Vehicle Locate

Find out where your loved one by accessing Family Link online to view a map with the vehicle’s exact location.

  • If you’ve got a new driver in the house, Vehicle Locate gives you peace of mind as he takes to the road.
  • If your family member is driving across the state to visit a friend, use the Vehicle Locate feature to check on her progress.
  • If your spouse is unreachable and driving in inclement weather, the Vehicle Locate feature can help you determine when he might be home safe and sound.

Vehicle Location Alert

Set up email or text message notifications which will let you know the location of your loved one’s vehicle. You can choose the day, time and frequency of the alerts.

  • If your teen driver is supposed to arrive at school every day at 8:00 a.m., use a Vehicle Location Alert and get a text every day regarding the vehicle’s location without you or your teen picking up the phone.

Boyle Buick GMC Truck is on Foursquare

Boyle Buick GMC Truck is on foursquare!  So, what’s that, you ask???  Foursquare is a location-based social networking website used on smartphones where users can “check-in” at venues using the application by selecting from a list of venues the application locates nearby. Your location is picked up by GPS hardware in the smartphone or network location provided by the application. Each check-in awards the user points and sometimes “badges”.  From a business perspective, users can also leave “tips” or reviews based on their experience at a business.

So, what’s in it for me you might ask???  Well, one way a business can drive customers to their store is by offering a “check-in” special.  This pretty much works like a coupon and if you “check-in”  at the business, you unlock the special.  Boyle Buick GMC Truck is currently offering a “check-in” special!  This month’s special is $5 off your oil change and tire rotation.

Come see us today and “check-in” to receive your discounted oil change and tire rotation and leave a tip/review while you are here!
